I heard The Ruins from my sister Marshall; during college they went there for an adventure… Ghost Hunting! The place was not ‘restored’ yet to what it is now. The Ruins became one of the tourist spot of the province.

It is literally what is left of the Ancestral House built by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson to her Portuguese wife; Maria Braga.

The Ruins is now famous for photo shoots from birthdays, weddings to pre-nups. There was a pre-nup being done when we went there.

How To Get There

Proceed to Bata (PEPSI bottling plant) and turn east. About 600 meters, you will see a cellsite above a 2 story building on the left. Opposite that building you will see a big sign that says “THIS WAY TO THE RUINS”. You will enter that narrow street leading to Rose Lawn Memorial Garden. Follow the small red and yellow signs on the electrical posts which will lead you all the way to The RUINS.

  1. I saw that in our college mag, Vision Magazine (since i’m in architecture school). The article discusses about the different intricacies that show architectural character. I thought that it was the epitome of the timelessness of love. Very romantic! 😀
