Today was a jam-packed Saturday! Basketball Overload indeed. Smart Gilas Pilipinas is playing vs Jordan in 33rd FIBA Asia and today also is Game 1 of 74 UAAP Men’s Basketball between Ateneo and FEU.
Whoever win in FIBA Asia will automatically play in 2012 London Olympics. After a long time, Team Philippines enter the Quarter Finals of FIBA Asia. Smart Gilas fought against Jordan this afternoon and whoever wins will battle with the winner of China vs Korea. Smart Gilas did a good job but not enough to win the game. Jordan lead in the 4th quarter and never look back. It seems that Gilas lost all their energy from their previous games. Jordan’s momentum from defeating Iran is carried over during the game. They are all pumped up and you can see that they really wanted to win. Smart Gilas will play for bronze on Sunday against the loser between China and Korea. I hope that they will win. Even if they lost against Jordan, I’m still proud of them. Proud to be Pinoy!
Smart Araneta Colliseum was jam-packed for Game 1 of UAAP 74th season between Ateneo Blue Eagles and FEU Tamaraws. Tamaraw did a good start and even lead in the first quarter. Blue Eagles however was able to recover and tied the ballgame at the end of first half 33 all. Blue Eagle won the game with an 18 point lead, 82-64 and Nico Salva was declared the Best Player of the Game. Blue Eagles are eyeing for a 4-peat title. Will they get it or will Tamaraw spoil it? We’ll never know.. they say say it’s the time of the upset.
